My name is Edric Svarte. I am a data science graduate student at the University of Waterloo. I have a background in math and economics, though statistics and machine learning are my primary interests.

WHAT IS
DATA SCIENCE?
Data science is a hybrid field that uses tools from statistics, computer science, and optimization to generate insights from data. Domain knowledge is also important since it is generally difficult to analyze data in a vacuum.
​
On the other hand, machine learning is at the intersection of data science and AI, and is primarily concerned with predictive modelling.
